Plastic-View has been in the solar control window treatment business for over 70 years!

 

We began manufacturing solar control window blinds in 1947, long before window film was invented. The cornerstone of Plastic-View ATC is producing, installing and servicing window blinds for airport control towers worldwide. Plastic-View ATC window blinds have been successfully installed throughout the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), US Army, US Navy and US Air Force airport control towers, plus in over 90 other nations. Plastic-View ATC is the world’s leading manufacturer of window blinds for this highly specialized application.

 

In 1984, Plastic-View International, Inc. (PVI) was established to service the growing global market for solar control window film including automotive, architectural, security and decorative. Today, the PVI product line has over 170 window films and over 25 solar control window blind materials.

We have been on the cutting edge of the most significant technological developments in the solar control window treatment industry including:

 

Plastic-View was the first company in the solar control window treatment industry to use PET. (1960)

 

Plastic-View was the first company in the solar control window treatment industry to use deep dyed PET. (1960)

 

Plastic-View was the first window blind manufacturer to use metallized film. (1968)

 

Plastic-View was the first company in the solar control window treatment industry to use laminated deep dyed and

metallized film. (1970)

PET, deep dyed film and metallized film are still the foundation of the solar control window film and window blind industry today.

We were also one of the pioneers that introduced sputtered film, Mirrorlux™ and most recently, Nano particle IR absorbers infused directly into the base PET during the extrusion process, resulting in extremely high IR reduction or IR cut with enhanced stability and longevity.
